Chasing the Storm and the Stillness it Leaves Behind
Based in Washington state, I create photography and encaustic work inspired by travel and weather hunting. I’m drawn to the pulse of motion and blur of passing moments on the road and in the storm. My camera is my anchor–helping me to capture fragments of clarity amid the rush. Later, through encaustic, I revisit those moments with wax and pigment, layering the memory and emotion into textured, gauzy recollections. My work is a dialog between immediacy and introspection, between the vivid now and the dream it becomes.
